Hello. My name is Janet Mayotte. I am a teacher consultant for grades 2 and 3 at WLES.
My husband is Steve and we have an adult daughter. I grew up in South Lyon and currently live in Ann Arbor. I have been teaching as a professional since 1985. I have taught in public and private school settings as a regular education teacher (grades Kindergarten-4th grade), special education, and as an adjunct professor (early childhood, curriculum and literacy courses). I attended Eastern Michigan University for my undergraduate work with a double major in special education - emotionally impaired (K-12) and speech & communications. I attended Eastern Michigan University and University of Michigan to complete MA degrees in special education - learning disabilities, early childhood education, and literacy (literacy/language/culture). I worked at both universities (EMU and U of M) in educational research (literacy) and completed my doctorate in 2018 in Educational Studies (Urban Education) at EMU. I enjoy biking, camping, playing a variety of instruments, art, and reading. It is my JOY to work with the students at WLES! |
